Shimano Deore XT/Ultegra M8100 Chain Description:

The Shimano Deore XT/Ultegra CN-M8100 12-speed chain was design for ultimate performance with the Deore XT M8100 drivetrain system. In addition to compatibility with Shimano’s 12 speed mountain groupsets, the M8100 is the OEM chain for the 12 speed Ultegra road groupset.

Note: The 126 link chain is adequate for most general road & mountain drivetrains, where as the 138 link chain provides an extended length for special circumstances, such as high pivot mountain bikes.
